It is with great sadness that we
must announce the death of Dr. Brant Bennion, a member of our
Weatherford family, who passed away earlier this month after a
brief illness.
Dr. Bennion, Technology Advisor for Weatherford Canada, had an
accomplished 32 year career
with Hycal and Weatherford. He was a well recognized member
of our community and the
petroleum industry as a whole. He served as chairman of many
boards and committees
throughout the years and was a distinguished author and co-author
of more than 250 technical
papers.
Dr. Bennion held a PH. D in Petroleum Engineering, and because he
had a love for teaching, he
became a professor at the University of Calgary. His
knowledge and understanding seemed
limitless and he leaves behind a tremendous legacy with the
countless number of people he
mentored and taught over the years. He was like a family
member to those who have worked
with him.
Not only was Dr. Bennion a legend to us at Weatherford, but he was
a loving husband and father
as well. Please join us in offering his family and friends
our sincerest condolences
during this sad time.
