Humble Geochemical Services was acquired by Weatherford International in May 2007. It maintains offices at 218 Higgins Street, Humble, Texas. Humble Instruments/Geochemical Services was founded in 1987 by Dan Jarvie. Humble Instruments/Geochemical Services manufactures analytical instrumentation including the SR Analyzer, Kinetic WorkStation, TEPI WorkStation, and Cryogenic Focusing Device.
Humble Geochemical Services offers complete analytical and interpretive services in organic geochemistry. Humble has alliances with Fluid Inclusion Technologies of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, HRT of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Global Energy, Lagos, Nigeria, and IES, the leading basin modeling company based in Aachen, Germany.

Charlene Boggs, General Manager Charlene is the general manager of Humble and is in charge of all daily operations within the company. Charlene and Dan Jarvie worked together at Delsi, the original manufacturer of the Rock-Eval, in the early 1980’s along with Dave Weldon. She has been with Humble since 1990. |

W. David Weldon, Engineering Manager Dave is our engineering manager handling new instrument development as well as support for existing systems within Humble as well as international customer locations. Dave and Dan worked together at Delsi, the original manufacturer of the Rock-Eval, in the early 1980’s. Dave was manager of the service department for Delsi-Nermag handling both Rock-Eval and GCMS service support. He has been with Humble since 1991. |

Hossein Alimi, Ph.D., Senior Petroleum Geochemist Hossein joined Humble in 2003 after a long career in the geochemical service sector with Robertson Research in the 1980’s and Global Geochemistry (Ian Kaplan) in the 1980’s-1990’s. Hossein earned his Ph.D in geochemistry from the prestigious KFA/RWTH with Dietrich Welte in 1977. He has broad experience in geochemical and environmental consulting and forensic geochemistry, and has published numerous papers in petroleum geochemistry and forensic geochemistry. |

Bidong Qian, Software Manager Bidong started his career as a college teacher in China. He was a research scientist in Japan, and then a software engineer in the US. Before he joined Humble, he was a software development manager focusing on geochemical lab automation and data management systems. Bidong earned his BS in Chemistry from Beijing Normal University and his MS in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Dallas. He has published multiple papers in the areas of Chemistry, Physics, and Computer Science. |

Tim Ruble, Ph.D, Senior Geochemist Tim joined Humble in 2005 after a diverse career that has included periods with CSIRO Petroleum in Australia, Mobil Oil, and the USGS. He has published on a variety of geochemical topics, including lacustrine petroleum systems, oil-bearing fluid inclusions, native bitumens and hydrocarbon generation kinetics. Tim earned his BS from Truman State University and his MS and Ph.D. from the University of Oklahoma. |

Richard (Dick) Drozd, Ph.D., Senior Geochemist Dick joined Humble in 2004 after a long career in the petroleum industry including Gulf Oil, Sohio, Standard Oil, BP, and Halliburton. He has specialized most recently in the application of geochemistry to problems in petroleum production and development. The author of numerous papers, Dick earned his BS from the University of Wisconsin and his Ph.D from Washington University in St. Louis. |

Valentina Baum, Ph.D, Geochemist Valentina joined Humble in 2005 and works as an interpretive and analytical geochemist. She had a long career with the Russian Academy of Sciences. She has extensive experience and publications on the application of geochemical methods to the study of petroleum systems and the prospect appraisal of sedimentary basins. She earned her BS and Ph.D from the University of Moscow, Russia. |

Albert Maende, Geochemist Albert joined Humble in 2006 to work on basin modeling and geochemistry, after previously holding Geologist-Geochemist and Exploration Manager Positions with the National Oil Corporation of Kenya. He has also had Explorationist working experience with both Woodside Energy and Ophir Energy Companies in Perth, Australia. Albert has published extensively on Kenya's Source Rocks and carried out studies on Central East Africa's Petroleum Geochemistry. He earned his BS in Geology from the University of Nairobi and was awarded an MS in Petroleum Geology by Aberdeen University during the tenure of the celebrated Prof. Arthur Whiteman. |

Wayne Knowles, Vitrinite Reflectance Specialist Wayne is a former Shell employee who has been providing vitrinite reflectance analysis since 2005. However, he has established himself as a key member of Humble’s shale gas evaluation team. |

John Scholten, Lab Manager John joined Humble in February 2007 after an extensive career in the upstream petroleum industry. He has worked for Standard Oil, BP and Halliburton companies before coming to work at Humble. He has a wide-range of experience working with Gas Chromatography, HPLC, GC/MS systems, and Project Management. | |
